It is time to get to know two of the cast members of Anna Mastro’s upcoming Disney+ feature film, The Secret Society of Second-Born Royals. The film kicks off by focusing on Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Sam, second in line to Illyria’s throne.
When she discovers that becoming a second-born comes with a huge advantage (and tremendous responsibility)-it suggests that she has a superpower and has the chance to join a secret society charged with keeping the world safe. She’s not in the royal scene at all.
That is when, as Roxana and Matteo, respectively, Olivia Deeble and Faly Rakotohavana walk in. As second-born royals themselves, they join Sam in the training program of Professor James Morrow (Skylar Astin) to develop their skills and see if they have what it takes to become members of this secret society.
I got the chance to speak with Deeble and Rakotohavana with the film now available for streaming on Disney+. We revisited the ventures that helped pave the way for Second-Born Royals, namely Home and Away for Deeble and Rakotohavana’s Nightmare Cinema, and also had some fun with cast superlatives and naming the dull yet realistic superpower they’d like to have most.
