Luke Jacobz reveals how COVID-19 influenced his friendship with fiancée Raychel Stuart before taking up her place in Home And Away.
Recently, after nearly a decade away from the long-running soap, he relocated from Los Angeles to Sydney to reprise his role as Angelo Rosetta on home and away.
And now Australian actor Luke Jacobz has talked publicly about how his relationship with his American fiancée, Raychel Stuart, was affected by COVID-19.
Talking to Sunday’s The Daily Telegraph, Luke, 39, said: ‘Unfortunately the last time I saw her was January.’
The former X Factor host announced that the pair were hoping to move Down Under later this year, but were delayed.
‘In fact she was supposed to move around here now so she obviously couldn’t get over yet or even come to set and watch,’ he explained.
‘We decided that I will fly out there with an empty suitcase for every production pause over the year and just grab a T-shirt to start taking her things back and forth,’ he told the publication.
It comes after Luke told New Concept he and his girlfriend were able to settle down and are going to try for kids soon.
‘In a few years it might be a madhouse at my place! ‘Last year he told the magazine.
‘[Raychel] comes from a family of five and she needs to have a large family,’ said Luke. ‘I’m from a two-family and I’m fine with that, so if she wants more, she’s my daughter, then hopefully we can have a big family for her.’
Luke revealed his return to Home and Away earlier this year, almost a decade after departing the series in June 2011.
He told The Sunday Telegraph that he was approached by Channel Seven producers in January, asking him to reprise his part.
‘[Channel Seven executives] called me in and asked,’ What do you feel about Angelo moving to the bay? “the actor asked.
‘I said “pretty good”-and it was almost suddenly, “Okay, let’s get a shave, suit a wardrobe and looking at some scripts,” he enthused.
On Thursday 13 August Luke returns to Home and Away.
