EastEnders’ Janine Butcher sparks suspicion as details of her latest scam are revealed

In tonight’s episode of EastEnders, Janine Butcher piqued Zack Hudson’s interest by continuing to pretend as a doctor who was treating baby Albie.

In Monday’s episode, Janine (Charlie Brooks) returned to the Square, introducing herself to newcomer Zack (James Farrar), who had filled in for sister Sharon (Letitia Dean) during Albie’s doctor’s visit.

Janine got right to work on examining infant Albie’s rash on Tuesday’s (September 7) episode, but she had to dash out to grab some medicine before she could communicate her diagnosis to Zack.

She blagged, “It’s obviously a skin problem.” “It appears to me, in my expert opinion… I believe, dermatologically speaking… I’ll simply go grab a cream!”

Zack stood there, perplexed, as the ‘doctor’ dashed away, her unusual behaviour plainly raising Zack’s suspicions.

Meanwhile, Janine was seen covertly conversing with the genuine doctor, Dr. Cole, and information about the con were revealed: Because Dr Cole has been struck off, Janine is impersonating a doctor, and the two of them are overcharging for consultations and medications in order to earn quick cash.

Dr. Cole ended up advising Janine exactly what to say to Zack about the diagnosis, and ‘Dr. Bernstein’ returned to the appointment room not long after to break the news with Zack.

Meanwhile, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was determined to inform Janine’s daughter Scarlett (Tabitha Byron) that Tommy was her brother, but Janine interrupted her.

Janine told Kat, “It’s been really sweet of you to babysit.” “However, I’ll handle everything from here.”

As the hearing began, Janine maintained that she’d changed and was now capable of caring for Scarlett – something Kat quickly refuted, and she was finally forced to concede that Scarlett and Tommy were siblings.

Kat revealed, “She wants to live with me… and her brother.” “More than anything, he wants her to live with us.”

She remarked, “This isn’t a game, Kat,” to which Kat replied, “It’s always a game.”

The court delayed Scarlett’s case due to fresh material provided at the hearing, leaving Kat happy that there was still hope for her to become Scarlett’s caregiver.

“I promise you, I won’t give up either,” Kat assured Scarlett.

Kat’s relief didn’t last long, however, as Janine showed up at the Vic and spent no time in re-establishing herself in Albert Square, vowing to do whatever it took to keep Scarlett in her care.

Janine said, “Whatever it takes.” “She’ll be joining me at home.”

Is it only a matter of time now that Janine gets back in Walford until she runs across Zack and her doctor con is exposed?
